Every three months, each CDW provides a report on what they have been doing in each of these communities, and what they plan on doing next. The last reports were delivered in August 2010, describing the work completed between the beginning of April 2010 and the end of May 2010.
Progress/Achievements
- Pacesetters breast screening publicity campaign, awareness raising session and translation of leaflet in Bengali
- Completed leadership award level 4
Delivered a presentation to YOCAS on care pathways - Observed at the Race, Culture and Ethnicity training and presented feedback which is to be implemented in the next race, culture training which I will be co facilitating.
- Contributed to the LINKs Week awareness sessions and information stalls
Leaflet designed for Leeds Refugee forum (African Action Plus against Extremism (Refugee Community Organisation-West Yorkshire Police-LRF) - Assisted in the Time for change event
Ward 5 – Shadowing and working together with staff to create a directory for BME women’s services in Leeds - Active member of Therapy and Healthy Living Forum
- Assisted for the preparation of Irish Intergenerational day, evaluation and feedback tools
- Intensely involved in the Organisation wide away day
- Safe guarding training

Difficulties encountered
- Being on annual leave delayed booking sessions at the Becklin Centre, it was also difficult to arrange times with the charge nurse.
- Being absence for 1 day a week to attend college proved to be quite difficult in managing own work load
Priorities for Next Quarter
- Provide support in the facilitation of the service users focus groups held by the Therapy suite at the Becklin Centre
- Complete the women’s services directory for ward 5
- Take a more active role on the wards
- Analyse date from the Restaurant and Takeaways questionnaires
- Attend relevant networking events and regular meeting
- To arrange Breast Screening awareness session at Shantona
- Mela/carnival
- Deliver race ethnicity training
- ELFHA community day
