Every three months, each CDW provides a report on what they have been doing in each of these communities, and what they plan on doing next. The last reports were delivered in July 2010, describing the work completed between the beginning of April and the end of June 2010.

PROGRESS/ ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Support and build the capacity of Association of Blind Asians organisation
  • Change agent to Vandan Group ensuring better monitoring systems in place
  • Support Apna Centre in preparation of there Open Day 
  • Assisted with the evaluation of the Irish Intergeneration Event
  • Supported East Leeds Health for All
  • Planned and Delivered 3 session’s at the Sundar Mann Café which included a mapping exercise of the needs of the group
  • Distributed 300 Sundar Mann Cafe Fliers to partners, local shops, GP surgeries and agencies
  • Attended internal Communications group meetings to look at improving internal and external communications
  • Promoted health and well being at Newsam Centre and distributed leaflets on looking after yourself
  • Attend monthly Sikh Elders Steering Group Meetings
  • Work with Sure Trust and attend the LINKs group meetings and workshops.
  • Attended meetings at Links Communications Sub Group & assisted with producing an Annual Report
  • Facilitated a workshop at Becklin Centre on 'your views' for patients, recommendations and report to follow
  • Presentation on Community Development to Gypsy and Traveller Forum
  • Yaadash (Memory) Seminar Project
  • Project managing in partnership with Memory Services a Project Initiation Document on South Asian Dementia Care
  • Assisted in the Consultation for the Congolese Community on Religion, Culture and Social Affair
  • Attended Training day on Participatory Appraisal
  • Attended Training on Code of Conduct
  • Attended Training on Safe Guarding adults
  • Attended Training on working with young people in the Criminal Justice System

 

PRIORITIES FOR NEXT QUARTER

  • Continue to work with LINKS and Sure Trust
  • Consolidate work with Sikh Elders, and work to their agenda
  • Further develop work with the Indian Groups   (MH Promotion, Expansion of Group, Monitoring Systems, Funding, etc)
  • ABA
  • Vandan Group
  • Continue to work with Faith groups and across team for language support
  • Complete Seminars on Memory to the Muslim (Islamic Centre), Hindu and Sikh Faith
  • Ward work
